EXPERIENCE

For more than 30 years, my work as an architect has closely involved disabled people and access issues. Since 1997, I have concentrated on my work as a disability access consultant.

My involvement with disabled people and knowledge of disability factors enables me to provide practical solutions in addition to the guidance standards and regulations.

During my career, I have:

Worked on over 2000 access audits
Run disability knowledge training sessions for designers
Run disability awareness training sessions for employees
Organised wheelchair basketball matches for disabled and other people
Set up and served on access groups
Involved disabled people in design and auditing processes

I produce Access Statements, Access Appraisals and Desk Top Studies for projects. I also assist Local Authorities in providing access comments on Planning and Building Regulation applications. I provide a port of call for some authorities to refer local businesses to for free advice over the phone.
