PARKING ON ROUGH GROUND.
Wheelchairs have difficulty moving on rough ground. This example shows tarmac provided in an area of shingle. The bays and transfer zones can then be clearly marked so that car doors are not blocked by adjoining vehicles. There is also a strip at the end of the cars so that wheelchairs can move across the area. These bays serve a 'boardwalk' area on the beach.
