We are a members travel company that is predominantly a call centre. Do we have to stock brochures and members literature for people with vision impairments?
Clubs where one must be a member to participate tend to be excluded from the DDA if they have no more than 25 members (DDA2005). However, if a member can take someone who is not a member, it may become a grey area.
You may not need to stock large print brochures but it would be useful to offer precis text versions in large print or a photocopy enlargement of specific sections on request.
You shouldn't need to go to great expense but be prepared to offer something. Maybe the main selection can be made over the phone to the call centre, then a limited number of options can be enlarged on a photocopier and sent.
Ask your local blind association what sources there are for large prints, audio recordings and braille copies. Then you'll know what will be involved if anyone asks.
