The Factors of Disability section of this web site will set an initial scenario to compare against particular situations.
However, the best sources for good information for studies are disabled people themselves.
- Contact your local council and/or county council to ask if they have an access officer or anyone who deals with disability access issues. If so, ask for their name and details of how to contact them;
- Contact your local council and/or citizen's advice bureau and/or council of community service and ask what local disability interest groups there are:
- Access Groups;
- Groups of Blind People;
- Groups of Deaf People.
- Contact these groups and find if they have meetings or social events, which you can join in, or groups of one or two people that you can go and chat to. Many disabled people are happy to raise people's awarenesss by giving information on local and not so local experiences.
- After these people have helped you, try to give them some feedback on what was produced, even if it is just a phone call to say how well your tutor received any report.
